2019 Wedding Flower Trends

03 January 2019

Ohhhh the florist find team do love a good wedding! We love following the trends throughout the years of what colours are in high demand, the most requested bridal bouquet style, and favourite flowers to use. The best part of all is seeing all the amazing work our wedding florists post on social media - the effort and creativity that goes in to every individual wedding to ensure it is a unique day for each happy couple is so inspiring. Here we give our wedding flower trends we recommend to keep your eyes open for in 2019...

Colour of the Year is … Living Coral

Pantone has announced its colour of 2019 is ‘Living Coral’ , a bright pinky-orange  sunny shade which we predict will be a huge hit for Weddings this year! Adding a splash of colour to Weddings, this coral shade works well all year round; combine with complementing rich jewel tones for winter brides after a dramatic look, and keep it light in summer with soft creams, pinks and foliage making the coral flowers the vibrant focus. Your wedding florist will have creative ideas to incorporate the coral colour, ideal coral stems based on the season of the wedding and how to achieve the look you are after.

Delightful Dahlias

Peonies were the wedding flower of 2018, but 2019 will see the come back of the gorgeous Dahlia. Available in the soft romantic hues loved by brides and beautiful shapes to create stunning floral arrangements, Dahlias are a great choice for your feature flower in 2019. Talk to your wedding florist about other complimenting flowers and foliage that will really let the Dahlia shine through in all its beauty.

Bringing the outdoors inside

Grand floral entrances, floral arches, flower walls, hanging hoops, banquet garlands —all a popular way to add the WOW factor to weddings. The bringing outdoors inside theme will continue to grow, with masses of seasonal foliage, greenery and pretty flowers creating a charming, romantic woodland theme look. This look can be tweaked to suit a wide variety of wedding venue, but looks particularly effective in barns and marquees where flowing foliage and scents really bring the space to life.

Floral crowns

Beautiful flower halos can make a change for brides, bridesmaids and flower girls in 2019. Big, bright and bold to sophisticated elegance, your wedding florist can be craft floral crowns in a range of styles and colours to suit your wedding theme.

Eco friendly flowers

Sustainability and eco friendly products are the future, with happy couples becoming more conscious about the impact of their wedding on the environment. Your local wedding florist can advise you on fresh eco friendly ideas such as foam free flowers, locally sourced products to help reduce carbon footprint and recyclable elements. Many churches and venues in the UK now request that confetti isn't used - however your florist can help source a great alternative such as dried petals in multi colours. We love the idea of wedding flowers that keep on giving, with inspiration from Meghan and Harry's wedding where the wedding flowers were donated to local hospices and charities after their big day.
