Meghan's Wedding Flowers

The Royal Wedding Flowers

The Royal Wedding of the Year was a huge success, with an estimated 2 billion people world wide watching Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tie the knot at Windsor Castle on a beautifully sunny May afternoon.

We were so excited to see the flower displays being created by Philippa Craddick and her talented team of florists. The stunning floral displays included locally sourced foliage, white garden roses, foxgloves and peonies (well know to be Meghan favourite blooms). Philippa gave some behind the scenes tips on her social media after the wedding - our favourite being she used hidden buckets and mini vases within the displays to keep them looking fresh. We loved these floral displays, which gave a real magical feel to St. George's Chapel. After the wedding, the flowers were turned in to mini bouquets and donated to local charities which was a lovely thought from the couple.

Meghan's Bridal Bouquet

Meghan's bridal bouquet was also a highly guarded secret - and surprised everyone with her choice. No big blooms, no peonies like many florists predicted. Instead, she opted for a beautifully crafted, understated bouquet full of tradition which really let her dress, the venue and her Prince shine. So which stems were used in Meghan's bouquet?

Astilbe: patience and dedication

Forget-me-nots: Diana's favourite flowers

Astrantia: Strength, courage and protection

Myrtle: Royal tradition to have in a bridal bouquet

Lily of the Valley : Sweetness and happiness

Sweet peas: Delicate, blissful pleasure

It was lovely to hear that Prince Harry hand-picked some of the flowers used in his brides' bouquet from the couples private garden at Kensington Palace. It was clear with little touches like this, just how much the couple wanted to still make this huge day still feel just like their own.
